Joshan and TK’s final project

For our final project, we wish to make an “interactive playroom” with visuals and sound. We would use the web camera through processing to read different individuals and their different body parts in a space. The different individuals would be represented with sound. Different frequencies will be attributed to different people who walk into the space. The visuals would be attributed to the individuals’ body parts. I.E. when a hand is raised, a different filter or image or different SOMETHING would occur and when a foot or the hand of another is recognized by the camera, then the visuals would change for that. Essentially, each time a different group of people (or even just one individual) would enter this space, they would create a unique art piece.

This is to translate the idea that each individual is unique in their own one. Everyone has something to contribute to the greater whole. This project would be used to highlight the differences between individuals and their own personal contribution by making a visual and auditorial art piece that others can engage with. So often we compare ourselves to others to be more like them. This project could be used to show that everyone is different and that’s beautiful because in your distinctiveness, you shine.
